Filmhouse enlists Rohde & Schwarz CLIPSTER for Edinburgh International Film Festival 2021 [PUBS]
Rohde & Schwarz, a world leader in post-production multimedia technologies, supplied Filmhouse with the latest version of its R&S CLIPSTER mastering system. Scotland’s first independent cinema, Filmhouse annually hosts the Edinburgh International Film Festival, established in 1947.
Alongside the Edinburgh International Film Festival, Filmhouse hosts at least two film festivals per month, from Japanese anime events to Spanish and French film festivals, as well as special events, such as the recent Mark Cousins ââcollection. The team relies heavily on CLIPSTER to create digital cinema packages (DCP) of short films during festivals, to create film scans and to set up marketing plans.
âWe bought our first CLIPSTER in 2013 and have used it extensively throughout its life. So the best and wisest decision to make was to upgrade to the new version. Speed ââis vital to everything we do here at Filmhouse and CLIPSTER handles all the work we need extremely quickly and reliably. It’s incredibly flexible and able to handle the wide range of content we work with, âsaid Ally McCrum, CMI Technical Director, Filmhouse Edinburgh, Belmont Filmhouse Aberdeen, Edinburgh International Film Festival.
âThe response from Rohde & Schwarz has been amazing and the team there are fantastic in helping us make a smooth transition. We had a very short turnaround time between installing the system just before the Edinburgh International Film Festival and the tech support team were able to explain the changes to the new system to us so we could get started.
