New York International Film Festival Winter Film Awards Opens Nominations for 11th Annual Celebration of Independent Film

The Winter Film Awards International Film Festival (WFA) announces a call for entries for its 11th annual celebration of independent film, to be held February 16-25, 2023 in New York City.

Filmmakers from around the world will travel to New York to attend the Festival’s ten days of film screenings, educational panels, professional development workshops and industry networking after-parties, culminating in a scintillating awards ceremony to be held on February 25, 2023.

The mission of the Winter Film Awards is to promote diversity, bridge the opportunity gap and provide a platform for underrepresented artists and a variety of genres, viewpoints and approaches – this is that by seeing the stories of others we can understand each other and only through an open door can the underrepresented artist enter the room. The Festival showcases new, creative voices from emerging filmmakers from around the world across all genres and lengths – features and shorts, narrative fiction, dramas, comedies, documentaries, animation, horror, web series and music videos.

Outstanding work will be awarded for each category, along with Best Director, Best Actor/Actress, Best Student Film, and the NY Perspectives Award for Best Depiction of New York’s Multicultural Experience. Over $50,000 in cash, prizes and distribution opportunities will be awarded.

Filmmakers are invited to submit their latest work via FilmFreeway
