“Salute” by Dulquer Salmaan selected for the 51st Rotterdam International Film Festival

In some exciting news, the next Mollywood movie Greet, led by Dulquer Salmaan, has been selected for the 51st Rotterdam International Film Festival.
This edition of the film festival will be held in the Netherlands from January 26 to February 6.
Reportedly, jury members praised Rosshan Andrews for his directing and Salmaan for his performance in the crime drama.
Why is history important?
- Thuramukham and Everything is cinema, directed by Rajeev Ravi and Don Palathara, respectively, were the Malayalam films which were screened at the film festival in the recent past.
- Independent horror film by Sanal Kumar Sasidharan S Durga won the Hivos Tiger Award at the Rotterdam Film Festival in 2017.
- Considering Andrews’ leadership skills, we can say with confidence that this recognition for Greet is appropriate.
“Salute” marks the seventh collaboration between Andrews, Bobby-Sanjay

Popular screenwriting duo Bobby-Sanjay wrote Greetthe script of.
In case you didn’t know, they are known for movies like Traffic, Ayalum Njanum Thammil, Bombay Police, and Uyare, among others.
Especially, Greet marks Andrews’ seventh partnership with the Bobby-Sanjay duo and the trio’s second crime drama after their successful adventure Bombay Police.
This film also marks the first collaboration between Andrews and Salmaan.
Salmaan puts on khaki for the first time
Greet is also the first film to present Varane Avashyamund actor as a cop.
Billed as an investigative drama, the film will also have Diana Penty (lead wife), Manoj K Jayan, Alancier Lopez, Lakshmi Gopalaswami, and Saniya Iyappan in other lead roles.
Following the great success of Kurup, manufacturers of Greet are hopeful and promote the film as a pan-Indian film.

Salmaan has a huge lineup of films in his pipeline.
Kollywood movie Hi Sinamika, which is directed by choreographer Brinda, will have Salmaan in the lead with Kajal Aggarwal and Aditi Rao Hydari.
He also has Hanu Raghavapudi’s untitled film on hold.
Othiram Kadakam, King of Kotha, and Chup: The Artist’s Revenge are also on its slate from now on.
