From May 17, all roads will lead to the Palais des Festivals et des Congrès in Cannes, France. Film fraternity from around the world will come together to celebrate the best of world cinema at the coveted Cannes Film Festival. Joining them will be a proud moment for the filmmaker Chandrakant Singh, who directed the short film “Parchaaiyaan” and will present this 32-minute short film at the 2022 Cannes film festival. The film “Parchaaiyaan” is presented by the famous entrepreneur and film business analyst, Girish Wankhede who is also one of the producers of this film. The film will be screened in Cannes in 2022 and the whole team is delighted. Featuring Tanuj Virwani, Sezal Sharma and Hémant Kher, “Parchaaiyaan” is a tribute to the most famous lyricist, Sahir Ludhianvi who gave a new direction to Indian cinema and whose story is a source of inspiration for younger generations.
During his life, Sahir saheb received several Filmfare Awards for his work in films like “Taj Mahal” and “Kabhi Kabhi”. His classic movie hit songs like “Pyaasa”, “Naya Daur” and “Phir Subah Hogi” are truly exemplary.

While speaking to the media, the actor Tanuj Virwani said, “I personally love the medium of short films and it’s an honor for our film to have this platform. We are going to attend the 2022 Cannes Film Festival. It will be a great feeling to be part of it”.
Girish Wankhede, who is back in the limelight again with this short film, says, “I’m a big fan of Sahir Sahab and to be associated with something like this is a big high. The Short Films space is dynamic and showing it to the world in Cannes will set its course. We are quite ambitious and intend to travel the world with this heart-warming film.
