Titane wins the Palme d’Or at the Cannes Film Festival: La Tribune India

The prestigious Cannes Film Festival culminated on Saturday. The highlight of the event was the film Titane by French director Julia Ducournau which won the festival’s most prestigious award, the Palme d’Or. The Franco-Belgian co-production tells the story of a young killer.
The festival’s second most prestigious prize, the Grand Prix, was a tie between Oscar-winning Iranian director Asghar Farhadi’s film A Hero and Compartment # 6, directed by French director and screenwriter Juho Kuosmanen. Other winners included Leos Carax, who won the award for best director for his musical Annette.

Norwegian actress Renate Reinsve won the Best Actress award for her work in the film The Worst Person in the World. Caleb Landry won the award for best male actor for his role in Nitram. – IANS
