Tiyasha Films organized the 7th Durgapur International Film Festival in 2022

This festival was first launched in 2016 as “Solis Short Film Festival” in the cultural city of Durgapur. In its first season, the festival was screened with only 10-12 short films from West Bengal and surrounding areas. Having received a huge response from filmmakers, the festival has continued every year since then. Even during the corona pandemic, the festival was not stopped but organized online. The number of films submitted to the festival has grown from 10 to 12 to over 150, making it one of India’s leading film festivals currently named “Durgapur International Film Festival”. This year’s festival is the 7th consecutive season and is taking place in Kolkata for the first time.

Current festival (DIFF-2022):
After a huge success over the past 6 seasons and tremendous response from filmmakers across India and various other countries, Durgapur International Film Festival is now taking place for the seventh time in Kolkata.

The festival is held at Dr. Triguna Sen Auditorium on the campus of the prestigious Jadavpur University, where the program will run from 10am to 6pm; exhibit and screen 40 short and feature films.

A total of 153 films were submitted from around the world, in the feature, short and documentary categories, including music albums to compete.

Of these, 40 selected films will be screened over two days (September 20 & 21, 2022).
Esteemed people from the creative fields of art and film will be part of this festival. In addition, the festival will be illuminated by the presence of film personalities and actors from the Tollywood industry. Actor Shri Biswanath Bose and Smt. Anamika Saha will grace the DIFF auditorium.

This is a contest-based prize-giving festival; where both Indian and foreign contestants will be awarded in each category. This time, 38 awards will be handed out with souvenirs and certificates, and the top winners will also receive cash prizes. In addition, each participant who submitted their films and music videos will receive a certificate of participation.

Smt. Sila Dutta, Shri Ashoke Viswanathan, cameraman Shri Bibek Banerjee, famous theater manager Shri. Sabyasachi Biswas and famous Bangladeshi director Shri Shahidul Haque Khan.
