Wyoming International Film Festival Comes to Cheyenne
CHEYENNE, Wyo. (Wyoming News Now) – If you’re a movie buff and have an artistic itch, there are 2 upcoming events you’ll want to mark on your calendar.
The Wyoming International Film Festival is coming to Cheyenne, July 7-10.
The festival will showcase feature films, shorts, stories, documentaries, music videos and web series.
“The majority of movies are shot right here in Wyoming. These documentaries, shorts, dramas, comedies, and we’re going to bring everyone together from everywhere just to celebrate cinema here in Cheyenne,” said Dominic Syracuse, Head of Marketing creative – Wyoming International Film Festival.
The 3-day celebration will bring together industry professionals, filmmakers and artists to screen 128 films from 13 different countries.
The festivities will take place in the auditorium or SPA of Surbrugg-Prentice.
As part of the event, there will also be a 48-hour film competition. Registration for this event is now open and begins June 17-19.
This competition will allow people to make a 5 minute film. The top 15 winners will be chosen on July 10 to be presented at the festival.
All skill levels are welcome to participate.
“Cheyenne is growing so much and the artistic community is growing so much that this is a chance for anyone with that artistic itch, anyone with an interest in film, anyone who is creative to come and do something really, really fun,” Syracuse said.
The festival ends with an awards ceremony where they will hand out 20 prizes and over $2,000 in prizes to the winners.
